#PROJECT21 TEASER ONLINE
After a long period of planning, discussing, composing and improvising we can finally announce that in this year we will premiere a project we’ve been working on since the foundation of the band. An evening-filling performance of music from experimental and contemporary soundscapes to hard rock riffs and electronic beats. Every second of music is composed and improvised by ourselves and thus represents everything The Interstring Project stands for. In the coming months we will share more and more information about the project until its premiere at the end of the year. Stay tuned!!
VIRTUAL PARTNER RESIDENCY SUPPORTED BY THE GOETHE-INSTITUT
In times like these we’re grateful for institutions who adapt quickly to the situation and support international artistic collaborations even without being able to travel or to meet in person. The Goethe-Institut supports our concert project GUESS WHAT FREEDOM SMELLS LIKE with a two-weeks virtual partner residency in the first half of December 2020. The Argentinian/Italian/French composer Francisco Uberto is writing a new composition for us that we will present live in Germany, France and Switzerland in 2021 and 2022. We took the residency as an opportunity to collaborate on the composition process and to adapt our work flow to a digital practice.

We – Florin, Marius, Martin, Phileas and Robert of Open Source Guitars – will continue to work together as an experimental guitar ensemble with a new name: The Interstring Project.
The Interstring Project will pursue the artistic vision of Open Source Guitars and will keep on collaborating closely with the Hochschule für Musik Trossingen. We’re excited to continue working with all the people we’ve met during our time as OSG and are looking forward to dig even deeper into the instrument guitar, our collective work as an ensemble and the collaboration with artists from different countries and fields.
